Gordon Irvine
"The Chief object of every Greenkeeper worth his salt is to imitate the beauties of nature so closely as to make his work indistinguishable from nature itself." (Dr.Alister Mackenzie)

My Career started at Turnberry Golf Courses in 1982. I learned my greenkeeping craft under the guiding influence of some of the finest Scottish Links Greenkeepers; experiencing preparing the Links for some of the worlds top golf events including the Open Championship. During my time at Turnberry I studied at both Langside College in Glasgow and Elmwood College near St.Andrews, Scotland. During this time I was awarded the title of Scottish Greenkeeper of the year.

I moved on from Turnberry to be in charge of the construction of two new projects Millride and Lambourne golf courses in England. Both projects were completed on schedule and opened to great acclaim.
At this time I was awarded the title of British Greenkeeper of the year.

In 1994 I became a Master Greenkeeper.

1998 saw me move into the role of General Manager for Millride Golf Club a position I held till 2004.

In 2000 I studied Greenkeeping at Rutgers University USA.

I started up my Golf Course Management Consultancy business in 2004 specialising in sustainable golf course management and to date have advised projects across Europe and the Far East.
